Christmas Gift Ideas

Christmas is fast approaching and it can be hard to pick the perfect  gift, so this week I thought I'd share a few of my favourite products from this year that would make a great gift for the special people in your life. Enjoy! Xx

1) Chupi

I've mentioned Chupi before in a previous post about bridesmaids gifts and I have to say I just love the jewellery from her. It is so stunning and makes for the perfect gift, every piece is so special and the packaging is just gorgeous. The special treat for Mums, sisters and partners. Couldn't recommend enough.

2) Nima

Nima is an Irish company that sell gorgeous makeup brushes. They sell sets of brushes that are seriously good value and would make a fantastic gift for the makeup lover in your life. The brushes are so high quality and feel amazing on the skin. Their "Build it up" eye set is award winning and I can personally recommend that set myself. They have some great offers on for Christmas.

3) SoSu

Suzanne Jackson has a gorgeous selection of beauty products out but recently she's come out with the "Lash Bible" and the "Urban Bible" SoSu x Keilidh eyeshadow palette which I think would make fabulous Christmas gifts. 'The lash bible" is very good value as it comes with 16 pairs of high quality lashes for  €50.

4) Clarins

If you've read my previous blogs then you know that Clarins is my absolute favourite when it comes to skincare products, I just can't recommend them enough!  They have lots of Christmas gift sets on offer at the moment that are very good value for money and would make the perfect gift. The gift sets go as low as €34 which is great.  I've seen them on offer in Arnotts, Brown Thomas and Boots.

5) Daniel Wellington

I just love the watches from here. I was lucky enough to be sent a couple of watches from DW and they gave me a discount code of my own that you can find on my Instagram. They're so gorgeous and would be a lovely gift for your Mam, Dad, partner or any of the special people in your life. They're offering 10% off at the moment on their website. They do cuffs that match whichever watch you're opting for and they're just fab.

So those are my few recommendations for Christmas gifts! It can be hard to find something for the special people in your life so I hope this post gave you some ideas. Good luck and happy shopping!
Love, Jenny x

Booking your wedding reception venue

So you are engaged and its time to check out some wedding venues to have your reception at. My own advice is to go along to any wedding exhibitions that venues may have scheduled. Get to see the reception room decorated for a wedding, then whittle your final selection down to about 3 venues.

While some venues may appeal to you both there are some points that you may not have thought about. Your photographs are all you have left to remember your special day so here are some tips to consider when booking your venue.

Does the venue have any locations outside for photographs?

I very often come across wedding venues with little or no outdoor locations for photographs. If this is the case, I always recommend to my couples that they pick a location either near to the church or to the wedding venue for bridal party/family & their couple shots.  A location that means something to the couple can be a lovely idea. Speaking to your photographer in advance of your wedding day about locations f…

My own, honest approach to a wedding

When it comes to photographing a wedding there isn't much I don't do. I do everything on the big day from helping the groom with his tie to blow-drying the creases out of the brides dress! For me the whole day is about more than than just capturing stunning images of the couple, it's about the experience in it's entirety. Helping the couple in that nerve wrecking lead up to the big day is all part of the process and it really pays off because when it comes to the wedding day we're all comfortable with each other and can enjoy the day together. We meet in my studio to chat about the important things like the time schedule for the day, the church, timing for photos etc. I even give them homework! My couples leave my studio armed with all the info I give them regarding the big day and I encourage them to tell their families where to be for photos and ask their families and bridal party members not to go missing until their photographs are taken.

On the day, I constan…

Top 4 Makeup Artists

I get asked all of the time to recommend makeup artists for the big day. It's such an important part of the wedding, every bride wants to look and feel her best on their wedding day so there really is no room for error when it comes to the makeup. It is so, so important to research the makeup artist you have in mind and to meet with them before the wedding to discuss what style you're thinking of going with and to have a trial so that you are happy on the day. Every bride wants to feel confident and comfortable on their wedding day. So this week I thought I'd share my top 4 recommended makeup artists!

1) Derrick Carberry

Derrick is one of my absolute favourite people to work with in the wedding industry. Derrick is not only a fantastic makeup artist, he is also a very genuine and lovely guy. Girls love to have Derrick around on the morning of the wedding because he has a very unique way of putting everyone at ease and creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Very often, Mum…
